Industrial Welding Training
Obtain broad based welding experience

Our welding training course provides the foundation needed by the Maintenance Mechanic to make sound welds in the work environment.  Participants will develop a working knowledge of welding techniques and equipment setup and operation.  The properties and applications of steel and non-ferrous metals are covered.  A hands-on approach is used with an emphasis on welding and cutting applications, applied metallurgy, weld inspection, and safety.

Topics Covered:

  • Properties of various metals
  • Non-destructive and destructive methods of weld examinations
  • Criteria for the selection of various electrodes
  • Explanation of welding symbols
  • Techniques for making various welds in all positions
  • Formation of proper "habits" for making acceptable welds
  • Proper joint design
  • Setting up machines for DCRP, AC, or DCSP current type
  • Examination of cutting equipment
